This portfolio features some of my favourite masterpieces of Italian design created by the masters, including Mario Bellini, Mario Botta, Pierluigi Cerri, Antonio Citterio, Angelo Mangiarotti, Luca Meda, Paolo Pallucco, Aldo Rossi, Tobia & Afra Scarpa, Ettore Sottsass, Kazuhide Takahama, Nanda Viga and Lella & Massimo Vignelli. The selected pieces are united through their cylinder lines; everything is round, cylindrical or curved. Designed in the 1960’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, some still in production, many reissued and others borrowed from museums and galleries. These are a few of my favourite things and I love how they all speak to each other despite coming from 4 or more decades and from the hands of very different designers. The set is inspired by Gae Aulenti's 1971 apartment in the tower of Palazzo Pucci in Florence using hand-finished stainless steel panels from De Castelli and is finished with decadent cream woolen carpets from Nanimarquina, Cassina and Loro Piana.
